Kiss My C14ss

Well little lovelies, funny story.... I graduated High School yesterday. Cue the applause and mass amounts of confetti. And even as I sit here, typing this post on my brand new laptop that my parents gave me as a grad present, it still doesn't feel real at all. I feel like I'm going to be walking down the halls of my High School in a few months but that is not the case at all. I'll by moving into my new dorm room and leaving everything I once knew behind.

Remember when I said cue the confetti? Well yeah, we definitely did. What you don't see in this picture is the mass amount of chaos that took place after the blue, green, and white paper littered the ground. A few people who were just a bit too excited to never have to step foot into the hell like building we've resided in for the past four years and decided, it would be fun to stand on their chairs and throw anything they could find.

Being the oldest of four, and the first to graduate, it was a bit emotional for my parents to say the least. My mom was as gorgeous as ever and my brother was the goof that he typically is.

Everyone was on such a high after the ceremony, the last thing we wanted to do was stand still and take pictures, but we knew that we had to document the event. I mean you only graduate high school once right?

And of course it's all even more special when you have your best friend right by your side. If you are lucky enough to have a best friend that is amazing as she is, don't let him, or her go. While most people are being spilt from their friends as they attend different colleges, I'm happy to say that I get to stay with her for another four years. Knowing all the while that my four years of high school provided me with a friend that I will have for the rest of my life.

And it's safe to say that we kinda lost it when we saw one another.

So if you graduated this year, CONGRATS, I'm so happy that you get to leave that horrid building that they deem a school. I wish you all the happiness in your future endeavors and thank you for even taking the time to read about mine. So class of 2014, all though high school kicked our ass for four long and grueling years, everyone can KISS OUR C14SS!

Amusement at its Finest

So this past weekend I went to a lovely little local Amusement park with my family. It was a day full of thrills, screams, and sweat. Goodness was there sweat, because it was a ripe 90 degrees that day.

There were some lovely little bonding moments between my younger brother and I. Fun fact, he's twelve years old and an entire head taller than me.

Since it was absolutely scorching outside, and I knew I would be left to the will of the sun and heat, i decided to opt for something that would keep me cool while remaining functional. Just choosing a crop top and a loose pair of overalls along with white vans. And of course I had to eat a Popsicle too, that one is kind of a given.

Surviving Finals

Sadly that time is rolling around again. The time of late night cramming, sleepless nights, and the looming thought that you're destined for failure. So I've decided to create a surving AP test, and Final guide.

1. The first thing needed is food. Whether it's chocolate, fruit, chips, whatever, I can promise you you won't get through this week without it.

2. Music. If you're like me, dead silence only distracts, so a killer playlist is definitely a must. I've been listening to Iggy Azalea's new album non-stop as well as a bit of 5SOS

3. Friends. It's always nice to jump into a small study group. Just make sure it's with people who won't distract you.

Here's an example of what not to do

4. Tea/coffee/any sort of caffeine. You're going to be cramming. It's always a given with these sort of tests no matter how early you say you'll start looking over the material. Any sort of caffeine becomes your savior.

5. Sleep. You need rest. You'll end up zoning out during the test, and if your like me, even falling asleep on your booklets.

Best of luck this week! Try not to let the stress get to your pretty little heads. The most important thing to remember is to keep your sanity, and not to sacrifice your health or well being for that one good grade!

Beach Vibes

I absolutely loved being away in this little slice of heaven for the past few days. It was a much needed relaxing vacation. The sun was hot, the water was freezing, and the company was amazing.

The second day we decided to take a little break from the sun and do some shopping. We visited some outlets and then went to the Market Commons to visit some little boutiques and see a movie. I had been postponing seeing Divergent because I had wanted to read the book first but I finally gave in after starting it and I am absolutely in love. Four, Tobias, Theo, whatever name you want to give him, is such a beautiful man and I was going absolutely insane the entire time his face was on the screen. It's definitely a must see, and ever since I haven't been able to put the book down.

The Market Commons were absolutely gorgeous and I could spend hours walking around them, unfortunately we weren't able to stay there too long, which may actually be a good thing because I put a pretty little dent in my wallet.

This is the little square in the middle of the Commons, and I'm wearing a pair of brown faux leather shorts from Urban Outfitters and a black crop top from h&m.

Overall the trip was just one giant tease for summer and I can't wait until June rolls around. It was lovely being able to get away with my best friend and soak up the sun even for just a few days.

Spring Break Packing

I am notorious for over packing when going on trips. Even just staying one night calls for a weekend bag. I'm always so indecisive so having options of what to wear is extremely important. The weather can take a sudden shift from what the forecast was calling for or I just could decide last minute that I don't quite like the outfit as much as I thought I did. I somehow managed to fit five pairs of shorts, two sweaters, two pairs of overalls, a kimono, seven shirts, three t-shirts, four pairs of yoga pants, three pairs of running shorts, socks, underwear, and four bathing suits into my small suitcase. Don't ask me how because I have no idea, but it happened. Of course since my bag is now stuffed to the brim with clothes that leaves no room for my laptop, shoes, makeup, and toiletries which will all be packed last minute in my weekender bag. I wish I was able to provide tips on how to down size when it comes to packing but I almost encourage over packing.

I tried to keep what I was packing easy, light weight, fun, and versatile. It almost doesn't make sense for me to have packed so much for the beach, most of my time will be spent lounging in my suits, but like I said, options are always a must. Traveling is always a blast but it's annoying not being able to take your entire closet with you. So my main advice when preparing for your trip is to make sure the items your packing can mix and match. For example, one shirt can go with three pairs of shorts, or a pair of shorts can be worn with a few different shirts that way your outfits aren't set in stone and you feel like you have a vast array of choices.

I am so excited to be packing shorts and crop tops. The weather has been so on and off on the east coast. Eighty degrees one day, then thirty six the next. I can't wait to be able to bury my feet in the sand and feel the sunshine on my face. Maybe I'll actually find time to crack open Divergent, reading at the beach is probably one of the most relaxing activities known to man.

New Faces in New Places

This weekend was another busy one for me, I attended a film festival for an environmental agency on Saturday, and it was about as fun as it sounds (not fun at all). Some of the films were funny and interesting, but a few..... lets just say I was able to take a much needed nap. But on Sunday I went to meet up with my roommate for college! We met up in a town near the campus and I can't even tell you how nervous I was. It was our first time meeting and I'm one of those people who always feels the need to make a good impression.  So of course I wasn't exactly dressed correctly for the pouring rain that we had. I had on my rain boots and I had my umbrella but I left my rain coat in my car because fashion. I don't always make the smartest choices. But we had a lovely time getting to know each other. We went for lunch.

Surprisingly I didn't order something normal on the menu. I'm generally a picky eater, but once my meal arrived I wasn't as shocked considering it was just a flat bread with cheese and tomato. But after lunch we walked around and went into a few shops and vintage stores which were absolutely to die for.

And then we finished our day with a few cupcakes.

I am even more excited for move in day than I was before. And I'm even more excited that my roommate and I got on really well!

I would also just like to apologize for the lack of posts as of recent. It's been extremely busy lately with keeping up with school work, the writing and editing of Ambercool, and just the hundred and one other things that I have going on. But I just thought I would give you guys a quick update on what I've been doing and the run down on another busy weekend!

What's in my Bag

Most of my posts this week have been a bit different, I just wanted to change things up and not have a constant repetition because that can sometimes get boring, so today's post is all about what's in my bag. I literally just unzipped the purse that I've been using lately (just a black cross body from target) and dumped the contents onto my bed.

1). Glasses and glasses case: I'm supposed to wear them when driving which rarely happens but I keep them with me just in case
2). Camelback water bottle: It's important to always stay hydrated so I always fill up my water bottle every morning before leaving the house
3). Paris Journal: I tend to always keep a journal with me, no matter how many times I switch my bag around that is one thing that remains constant
4). Camera: I keep my small camera with me in case inspiration strikes or I'm doing something interesting that day. I've also been wanting to start vlogging a bit so I keep it handy just in case
5). Iphone: my phone is my baby, my entire life is on that thing
6). Elephant Wallet: I got this clutch wallet for Christmas and I think the print is really fun and elephants are my favorite animal
7). Random Receipt: This is a receipt for one of the prom dresses I bought, I have no idea why it's just floating around in there
8). Mascara: I don't typically carry mascara with me but I was running late one morning and just threw them in there so I could finish my makeup in the car
9). Lauren Hutton Oil Blotting pads: My skin gets pretty oily throughout the day so these are a lifesaver
10). Headphones: I like to have them just in case, you never know when you're going to have to tune someone out
11). Lollipop: They gave this to me after dinner at a restaurant I went to recently, I still don't understand why
12). Pens: To write in my journal with or just for any other reason
13). Handsanitizer: you can never be too cautious
14). Tylenol: I get massive headaches so I always make sure I have some sort of pain reliever with me
15). Car Keys: I clearly need to drive places, I have a bunch of keychains attached to the end so they don't get lost in the bottom of my bag
16). Raybans: My sunglasses are always with me, even on a cloudy day, I'm obsessed with them.

This City Never Sleeps

So as promised, today's post is all about the night spent in the city. I wish I could say something exciting about my outfit, but sadly on the car ride into the city I ended up having to change. I take pride in my ability to not only strip off my high waisted shorts and replace them with a nice pair of black harem pants, but to do so in a moving vehicle without being seen. But the night wasn't completely ruined as I layered up and removed my kimono and summer craving outfit when the cold crept in. Over burgers and the noise of a busy restaurant, laughter between friends echoed all around me. Now one thing I love to do in a crowded area is people watch. Or more accurately people judge. You tend to see some interesting characters wandering the streets late at night. But high off of excitement from the impending projects and drunk off of the city lights I couldn't help but smile back at all of the passerby's lining the streets.

Weekend Antics

So this weekend was pretty eventful. I spent most of Saturday at a review session for my Lit class which was just a blast, (once again this is a time where I wish sarcasm transferred well over the internet) and then spent the afternoon at the gym. And after that glorious day, I jumped into the car to meet up with a friend in regards to a very exciting project that I'm taking part in! I am now the new editor for ambercool.com. I am thrilled to be able to be a part of this site because the vision surrounding it is absolutely amazing.

Ambercool was founded in 2008 by Viet, an amazing photographer, and someone that I've known since I was in diapers. Very recently he has decided to revamp his website and I couldn't be more excited to be involved. His pictures are gorgeous and you would be crazy not to go click on the link up above to check them out. I'm going to be working with him a lot on upcoming posts, events, and other various things so keep an eye out for his photos in the upcoming days. We took a few shots the other night and they will be up on the blog very soon and I can't wait for you to get a small taste of his unbelievable talent. Hope everyone had a lovely weekend and I'm so excited for you all to see just how amazing this new venture is! But rest assured, just because I am now part of Ambercool doesn't mean Walk A Mile In My Style will be cast aside in anyway. This blog is my baby, and there won't be anything changing in regards to that. If anything we're only going to grow and become even better.

Girl Power

So very recently I had the privilege of attending Demi Lovato's Neon Light's Tour. The tour was literally all girl power and it was something I definitely needed.Fifth Harmony opened the show, followed by Little Mix who I was absolutely thrilled to see, and then came Demi. The vocals from all of the girls were phenomenal and I couldn't hold back the tears when Demi belted out her song Warrior. It was a great night spent with even better friends. Even though yesterday was International Women's Day, isn't everyday a day to celebrate girl power?
